For over 30 years the quiet beauty of Door County has inspired me to draw and paint landscapes. My contemporary-realistic style is a blend of true realism and modern impressionism. I strive to capture the crisp, vivid colors true to the "Door," frequently using loose, bold, spontaneous strokes to capture the backgrounds and contrasting fine detail to emphasize a singular focal point. I simplify each composition, reducing the painting to only the elements necessary to communicate the natural beauty to the viewer.
